The 37th annual Riverfest arts and crafts festival will be held at Etowah River Park on Sept. 25-26. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The festival will display local artists’ artwork and have children’s activities and concessions. This event is being held by the Service League of Cherokee County; their main goal is to “serve the children of Cherokee County.”  

The league takes requests from schools, social workers, and individuals to help provide basic needs to children. Riverfest is just one of their festivals used to make money for housing, clothing, medical needs, school supplies, and Christmas gifts for children in Cherokee County.  

For years, they have helped with clothing drives to support Give a Kid a Chance and packed lunches for Must Ministries summer lunch program.  

Riverfest started in 1984 as a small arts and crafts festival, but over the years it has turned into the league’s largest fundraising event. The festival hosts more than 150 arts and crafts vendors, ten to fifteen food tucks, and an entertainment stage full of local talent. The cost of entry is a $5 donation for anyone over the age of ten. Children ten and under get into the event for free.
