Snicker Doodle Cookies
INGREDIENTS:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
½ tsp. salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar, lightly packed
1 large egg room temperature
1 large egg yolk room temperature
2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
PROCEDURE:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, ground cinnamon and salt until well combined. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 1-2 minutes or until well combined. Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Make dough balls and roll in cinnamon sugar to thoroughly coat. Place the balls on prepared baking sheets, 2 ½ inches apart. Bake for 8–9 minutes.
