Snicker Doodle Cookies

INGREDIENTS: 

3 cups all-purpose flour 

2 tsp. cream of tartar 

1 tsp. baking soda 

1 tsp. ground cinnamon 

½ tsp. salt 

1 cup unsalted butter, softened 

1 cup granulated sugar 

½ cup brown sugar, lightly packed 

1 large egg room temperature 

1 large egg yolk room temperature 

2 tsp. pure vanilla extract 

PROCEDURE: 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.  
  1. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, ground cinnamon and salt until well combined. Set aside. 
  1. In a large mixing bowl using an electric mixer, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 1-2 minutes or until well combined. Mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract until well combined, stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. 
  1. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.  
  1. Make dough balls and roll in cinnamon sugar to thoroughly coat. Place the balls on prepared baking sheets, 2 ½ inches apart. Bake for 8–9 minutes.
