Chiefs kick off the 2020 football season against Woodstock
Sequoyah Chiefs Football will be kicking off the season on Friday, September 4th against the Woodstock Wolverines at Skip Pope Stadium. These two teams did not play each other last season, so the game will be fresh for both sides.
The Chiefs look to improve this season after a mediocre season last year. They had a record of 5-5 and made it into the playoffs. In region play, they posted a 4-4 record. As a result, they ranked 163rd in the state, and with many players returning, they hope to improve that.
The Wolverines are coming off a down year. They went 3-7 for the season and lost a couple of close games. They had a 2-3 record in region games, leaving room for improvement this year. Their performance landed them a ranking of 189th in the state.
Sequoyah will look to start the season off right with a win on Friday. Come support the Chiefs in your best Hawaiian gear.
