Girls’ lacrosse take on Etowah for senior night
On Apr 15, the varsity girls’ lacrosse team had their senior night. The team played Etowah High School at home. This game was a celebration for all the seniors on the team: Annslee Shepherd, Addie Hixson, Charleigh Willingham, Lauren Mattison, Taylor Rhines, Khelsey Shipp, and Michelle Crumley.
For the celebration, the girls got to walk across the field with their families, receiving a gift at the end.
“I think our senior night was amazing!” Shepherd said. “I can’t thank all of our parents, coaches, and teammates enough for all of the work they have poured into the season and to making sure us seniors feel special!”
The team won the game by a score of 13-9. Prior to the game, the team had a record of 6-8. After the game, it improved to 7-8. The team finished their season on Monday with a loss against West Forsyth High School and an overall record of 7-9.
“Our season is over, but I hope that my teammates go on to have an even better season next year!” Shepherd said. “I’ll be super interested to see how they compete in the region change and with our coaches as they approach their second year on the staff.”
