Scholarships available for seniors

Delta Kappa Gamma Scholarship 

Delta Kappa Gamma is an international organization of female educators. Its purpose is to “promote professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.” Gamma Eta, the Cherokee County chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, recognizes and supports future female educators by providing a yearly $1500 scholarship to a female Cherokee County graduate who plans to attend college to receive a degree in Education, with the purpose of becoming a teacher.

Female 2021 seniors who are interested in pursuing this scholarship must complete this online application. Additionally, each applicant must have two references complete the online Confidential Reference Form. At least one reference must be from a teacher. References may not be family members.

Completed applications must be RECEIVED online by the Cherokee County School District Office of Communications by the close of business on March 26, 2021. 

 

PAMAH Foundation, LLC Scholarship 

The PAMAH Foundation will award three $1,000 scholarships to qualified graduating seniors attending Cherokee County School District High School. Students interested in applying must complete this application and return it with other items required in the scholarship packet.

Pearl Turner and Louis Lindley Jones Memorial Scholarship 

This scholarship is under the guidance of the First Baptist Church in Canton, GA. The $1,000 scholarship is for one student, selected by a committee at the church.  It is renewable for three years after the first year.  Find the application here

2021 QuestBridge College Prep Scholars Program 

QuestBridge is a nationally recognized nonprofit that equips academically outstanding, low-income students to gain admission and full four-year scholarships to 45 top colleges

AG Scholarships 

The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture is offering $65,000 in scholarship to GA students pursuing a degree in agriculture, veterinary medicine, family and consumer sciences or a related field.  Please find the information here regarding several scholarship opportunities

WiseGeek LQBTQ+ Awareness Scholarship 

New scholarship for Sequoyah High School students who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ Awareness community.  The WiseGeek LGBTQ+ Scholarship will award $500 to help promote equality in our schools.

This scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges that may not have allowed them to perform well academically, but who still have the drive to succeed. 

                Example of personal challenges include, but are not limited to: 

  • Medical Issues 
  • Peer issues: bullying, change of school, minority status, etc. 
  • Family issues: divorce, death, lack of income, homelessness, foster case, abuse, etc.

The Beauty + Wellness Scholarship for Women 

Each quarter we award two $500 scholarships + a care package filled with healthy organic goodies to high school women who are striving to maintain their health and wellness as they pursue their higher education goals.  

Eligibility requirements:

  • Quarterly Deadlines: January 1, March 31st, June 30th, and September 30th every year

            Must be a graduating high school senior, current college undergraduate, or current

Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation Scholarship 

The Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation has awarded scholarships to our high school seniors for 15 years totaling 167 scholarships and $627,500. The past few years, the scholarships have been very generous ranging from $4,000 to $5,000 per winning student. 

This year we are also offering a Lineman’s scholarship for students interested in working in our industry as a Lineman. A copy of that application is also attached. You will notice there is no deadline for the Lineman scholarship.  The completed application and all other required documents must be received no later than 5:00 P.M. on Friday, February 12, 2021.  Applications received after this deadline will not be considered.

University MG Law Scholarship 

  • Applications for scholarships can be submitted by any high school senior or current attendee of an institute of higher education inside the state of Georgia (including tech schools). If you are attending school outside the state of Georgia, please apply for our nationwide scholarship. 
  • A student aid report (if available) showing the income status of your household must be attached for application to be considered. 
  • Must have a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0. 
  • A transcript must be attached with counselor or school representative signature for an application to be considered. 
  • This scholarship is a one-time scholarship worth $1,000. It will be awarded on August 1, 2021. 
  • Although not required, applicants are encouraged to submit recommendation letters and/or resumes to substantiate their application.
