Sequoyah looks to bounce back after a tough loss against Cherokee
The Sequoyah Chiefs football team has a home game against the Osborne Cardinals Friday, Sep. 6 at 7:30 p.m. The two teams met last year, and the Chiefs won 53-0 on the road. The Cardinals finished their season going 0-10 last year, while the Chiefs finished their season with a 10-3 record.
Both teams will be looking to bounce back after losing last week. Sequoyah started the season losing 14-0 against the Cherokee Warriors. The Cardinals are 0-2 after losing both games by an average of 22 points.
Osborne has lost their last 23 games. The last time the Cardinals won a game was in Oct. 2016. The Chiefs have won 16 of their last 25 games and are ranked 125th in the state and 2,674th in the nation. The Cardinals are ranked 432nd in the state and 12,109th in the nation.
Last season, Osborne scored 61 points but gave up 433 points. On the other hand, Sequoyah scored 416 points, and gave up 231 points.
