Sequoyah looks to go on a bear hunt
The Sequoyah Chiefs football team looks to take back the title of Hickory Flat this Friday, October 4th at 7:30 p.m. Sequoyah takes on the Creekview Grizzlies for the 13th time, and they are hoping for a win after last year’s 24-14 Chief’s loss. Last season, both teams made it to the playoffs with Sequoyah finishing their season 10-3 while Creekview ended last year 12-1.
Both teams will be looking to get a win this year as this game has been an even matchup the past few years. In 2018, the Grizzlies beat the Chiefs; however, in 2017, the Chiefs beat the Grizzlies 49-13. Creekview and Sequoyah are both coming off a bye week and are ready to give it their all in this week’s match up.
Creekview has a record of 3-2 this season. The Grizzlies have beaten Cherokee, Osborne, and Woodstock. Dalton took down the Grizzlies as well as Sequoyah. Creekview did, however, beat Cherokee while the Chiefs lost to Cherokee. With these outcomes, the game this Friday is certain to be a great matchup.
This season, Sequoyah has a region record of 1-1, and they are looking to bump that up with a win in this week’s game. Sequoyah is ready to return to the top of Hickory Flat and become 2-1, tied for 3rd, in the region.
Come out to support the football team this Friday at Skip Pope Stadium as they look to take back the battle of Hickory Flat. The theme of this week’s game is Camo.
