GOTW: Sequoyah’s Varsity Soccer teams to face off against Cherokee High School’s Varsity teams
Sequoyah’s varsity boys and girls teams are set to face off against Cherokee’s own varsity teams on Friday on Cherokee’s fields. This will be the only time the two teams meet during the regular season. The varsity girls’ team have a record of 1-1 so far this season while the boys have a 0-1 record. The Cherokee girls varsity team currently has a record of 1-0 and their boys have won one of their games, but they tied during the other. The boys’ game is another non-conference game, meaning it goes to their record but not towards the playoffs. This is important as the boys are still looking for their first win of the season. However, the girls’ game is a conference game. A Lady Chiefs victory would be an important foothold into going to the playoffs. Sequoyah’s varsity teams play Etowah next Tuesday while Cherokee is set to play Forsyth Central on the 13th as well. Friday night’s game will start at 5:30, so come out to Cherokee High school and support both of the varsity teams as they take on the Cherokee.
