Swim State Recap
The state playoffs for high school swim took place Friday, February 5, in the McAuley Aquatic Center at Georgia Tech University. The Sequoyah boys team placed 18th in the state, and the girls placed 11th.
Junior Delaney Harrison placed 1st overall in the 100m free, and 2nd overall in the 50m free. Sophomore Kelsey Jackson finished 20th in the 100m back. Sophomore Laurel Blase placed 1st in the 500m free, and 3rd in the 200m free.
Senior Grant Davis got 2nd place in the 500m free, and 5th in the 200m free. Sophomore Logan Geoghagan got 16th in the 500m free.
Laurel Blase, Kelsey Jackson, Mackenzie Beaver, and Delaney Harrison placed 5th in the girls’ 200m free relay and 7th in the 400m free relay. Logan Geoghagan, Brett Lowry, Spencer Espelid, and Grant Davis finished 18th in the boys’ 200m free relay. Geoghagan, Espelid, Davis, and Landon Thomas finished 14th in the boys’ 400m free relay.
