Perfection is a box.
We contort ourselves, make adjustments,
fix what’s “wrong” with our bodies and faces
just to fit in.

We break and tear ourselves into pieces
to fit in this insane puzzle
while still not seeming to be worthy.
Merely existing does not cut it;
Meeting expectations is expected.
We wear ourselves thin,
believing we are insufficient.
It’s become easy to wonder, question,
when will it be enough?
The truth is, we have always been
even more than enough.
All it takes to see the harm we have caused
is to view from outside that box.
