The past month, the movie “Uncharted” was released starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. “Uncharted” is a fast-paced adventure movie with a mystery plot. Set in Panama, the movie takes you throughout various scenes in the rainforest, “uncharted” islands, and high-profile auction rooms. The main characters, Nathan Drake and Sully, sought to find the missing gold from ancient Spanish pirate ships. 

The movie was based on a popular PlayStation video game also called “Uncharted.” Nathan Drake (Tom Holland), a skilled pocket thief, gets recruited by Sully (Mark Wahlberg), due to Nathan’s missing brother Sam. Neither of them had been in contact for years except for postcards that Nathan would receive. When they set off on a search for the lost gold, the postcards come in handy throughout their journey. It has fight scenes, hints of comedy throughout, and a friendship that developed throughout the movie. 

On opening night, the movie racked up 15.7 million dollars in profit at the box office, and on opening President’s Day Weekend, it generated 52 million dollars. It was well received by viewers earning a 90% audience score on “Rotten Tomatoes.” 

The ending credit scene left the whole audience with more unanswered questions and sets it up for the return of Nathan Drake. Although, as of now, nothing has been confirmed. The director of the movie said that he would not be opposed to the idea, and according to “ScreenRant,” he said, “If we’re lucky enough to get to make a sequel I have a lot of ideas for things that I personally would want to try.”
