The Sequoyah Chiefs Volleyball team will be taking on the Cartersville Hurricanes on Tuesday, August 18th in the War Lodge. This will be the Chiefs’ second game of the year, as Sequoyah is coming off a great campaign last season. The Chiefs and Hurricanes did not meet at all last season, meaning it will be a new challenge for both sides. The Chiefs posted a fantastic 41-2 record last season. Sequoyah ranked 6th in the state at the end of the year.

Cartersville ranked 119th in the state rankings last season with a 12-15 record. Although their total record was dismal, they posted a 5-1 record in region play. As for this season, Cartersville is currently 1-1. Their last game was a win against Villa Rica.

The Chiefs posted a terrific season in which they went to the state championship where they lost to Allatoona in a heartbreaking game. Most players on the team were in their first year on varsity, so they will be returning this season, hopefully giving the Chiefs another shot at the title.

Come to the War Lodge and support the Chiefs, but make sure to socially distance and wash your hands.
