Robinson leads Chiefs past Yellow Jacket

After winning another region game, the Chiefs boys basketball team is another step closer to the state playoffs. With the final score of 78-72, the Chiefs defeated the Sprayberry Yellow Jackets in the 6-AAAAAA Region Tournament Consolation game, with the Chiefs securing their spot as 3rd in the region 

Going into the game, the Chiefs had a record of 21-5 overall and a 13-2 in the region. The Yellow Jackets were 4-22 overall and 3-13 for their region. The Chiefs swept the season series against the Yellow Jackets this season. 

Senior Dashaun Robinson finished the game with 12 blocks and broke the all-time blocking record in a season along with the most blocks in a single game for the Chiefs. Tysen Pina originally held the record with a total of 81 blocks in a season.  

The Chiefs will travel over to Gainesville this Friday to go head to head against the Gainesville Red Elephants. The Red Elephants finished second in their region with a record of 12-14 overall and 7-3 in region and are ranked 173rd in state.  

Come out and support the Chiefs this Friday at 7:30 p.m. as they face off at Gainesville in the first round of the state playoffs.
